Nina told us:
I'm not a reader and I couldn't put this book down! I loved it!
I finished your amazing stories Monday evening. How you and your father could trace the history of the Sea Islands up to this present day is awesome. How touched I am with the integrity and faith of your family. Believe me you said it well, they knew poverty, hard work and respect for those working with them And all through there was never a hint of despair and lack of courage.
Got the book in the mail Friday afternoon. Sat down and started reading, finished reading the book about midnight. I absolutely loved it! It took me back to a time and place I have not been in a long time. It brought tears to my eyes, happy and sad tears. Sad tears for the loved ones that have passed on and happy tears to revisit a place called home.
I finished "A Place Called Home" - it was very good. I am sure both of you have many more great stories to tell. I could sit and listen to them for hours.
Cheri told us:
I loved this book! Even though I've never been there I've always loved the south. Reading this made me really want to visit there!
